Fall Bible Studies
The Gospel of John reveals an unmatched portrait of Jesus and is arguably the most theologically and philosophically profound account of his life, death, and resurrection in the New Testament. From revealing Jesus’ cosmic identity as being with the Father “in the beginning,” to recounting the many miraculous signs attesting to his mission and divinity, this guide encourages us to worship Christ as Lord and to follow him on mission in the world.
Esther, It’s tough Being A Woman is an in-depth and very personal examination of this great story of threat and deliverance. She peels back the layers of history and shows how very contemporary and applicable the story of Esther is to our lives. If you’ve ever felt inadequate, threatened, or pushed into situations that seemed overpowering, this is the study for you. Just as it was tough being a woman in Esther’s day, it’s tough today. This portion of God’s Word contains treasures to aid us in our hurried, harried, and pressured lives.
The Prodigal God uses a characteristic intellectual approach to faith issues; Keller uncovers an unexpected message in the familiar—and often misunderstood—New Testament parable of the prodigal son. Seekers and believers alike will see Christianity in a whole new way when they learn how Christ’s followers are supposed to love, so they can join him in heaven.
Proverbs: The Ways of Wisdom leads the reader in a detailed study of this book of wisdom literature. Each lesson’s five days of questions (along with helpful comments and context) guide in a process of careful examination and application of the text. Early lessons explore the background, shape, and theme of the entire book. The bulk of the lessons dig into the poetic kaleidoscope of wisdom-themes: words, work, neighbors, friends, marriage, family, sex, money, etc.
Dr. Emerson Eggerichs’ book, Love & Respect: The Love She Most Desires, the Respect He Desperately Needs, is based on the biblical passage from Ephesians 5:33 (But every husband must love his wife as he loves himself, and wives should respect their husbands – GODS WORD® translation). His premise is that communication between a husband and wife is often frustrated because of the vastly different ways in which men and women perceive love. Women are wired to need unconditional love and men need to feel unconditionally respected. Revitalize the love in your marriage!
The Jesus Storybook Bible to help us learn how to integrate our faith better with children. You discuss and share ways to use this as a tool in your home, as well as ideas for family worship. We will also use this as a springboard to dig into our own Bibles more deeply, to see what God has to say about OUR lives.
